In this faux documentary, Martin Scorsese shoots a “lost Alfred Hitchcock script” in Hitch’s style. He does an amazingly accurate job, and I would love to see him try to do this for an entire film.
The script was actually written by Ted Griffin (screenwriter of “Ocean’s Eleven” and Matchstick Men”) and the music is from Bernard Herrmann’s beautiful score for “North by Northwest” - one of Hitchcock’s masterworks - which was written by Ernest Lehman and is currently on my iPhone. Bonus points for the homage to Saul Bass’ “North by Northwest” opening credit sequence at the beginning of the film within the film.
