Dear Zach … that’s awesome! I’ll be there from the 20th-28th! I was going to post something similar to this, since I figured I must know someone else going … we’re going to be doing daily video updates for Indy Mogul.

GUYS! Don’t go to Sundance! It’s terrible! If you want to visit Park City, go another week. It’s a great city when it’s not inhabited by clubbers. Do you really need to see indie movies a couple months before they come out in the theatre or DVD that bad?

I go to Park City during Sundance to go snowboarding — here’s why: The film industry assholes drive the hotel prices sky high, so the average joes skip the mountain that week, and then those same film festers go drink themselves into oblivion every night leaving the slopes empty in the morning. Last year, I could count on one hand how many times I waited in line for a lift. My girlfriend’s family has a condo in the village, so I sleep for free and cook my own meals. This ski trip will be cheaper than any other I take this season. On top of that, film tickets aren’t tough to get and are reasonably priced. If you set yourself up for a low-key week, you’ll enjoy yourself. If you want to wait in line every night to sip overpriced drinks with wannabes, stay in NYC and go to Marquee.

My first friend to be on a reality show: Alexis Jones, who worked with me on Inside USC in 2005. She’s a contestant on the upcoming season of Survivor, which pits fans of the show like Alexis against fan favorites from previous seasons. Here’s what Survivor host Jeff Probst had to say about Alexis’ chances:  “When she came in she was so excited. And I launched into this speech about how you need to drop the excitement and get your head in the game because these other people out here, they’re already playing, they’re already playing you, and they’re already seeing you’re this little simple girl from Texas that they’re going to run right over [you]. And she looks at me and says, ‘I’ve read every person here.’ And she had a pretty good read on everybody. I thought,This is all I need to know. This girl knows how to play. As a fan, I picked this girl to win.”  Alexis previously won a car (and some other stuff) in the Showcase Showdown on the “Price is Right.” Her good friend Sadie Murray was a contestant on The Bachelor a few years ago and made it to the final two.
