It’s Wednesday so here’s a picture of me with my sisters at Amanda’s wedding at the end of May.
alumni update!
My high school’s alumni association occasionally sends out newsletters that include self-submitted updates from various graduates. Here are my favorites from the one I received this week:
- Allen Theime (‘54) has a grandson from California that is attending the University of Illinois.
- Janine (Ihssen) Bernabe (‘78) finally has a child who likes tennis. Hans played on the reserve team as a freshman and hopes to play varsity tennis.
- Gerald Perkins (‘50) was the number one blood donor in south Texas with 84 gallons donated.
With my dad after he received the Distinguished Alumni Award on Sunday afternoon from our alma mater, Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne. He was really nervous about his acceptance speech beforehand, especially since he had decided to speak without notes, but he ended up crushing it. A sample line: “I want to thank you for playing my favorite hymn as a dentist, Crown Him with Many Crowns…”

My sister and her husband are out of town for their honeymoon so tonight my cousins and I went over to their house to play Rock Band.

A follow-up interview with my four year-old cousin after I shaved the mustache.
After my youngest sister went off to college a few years ago my parents decided to start taking ballroom dancing lessons together. Tomorrow is my sister’s wedding and for the first time they’re going to get to show off their moves to the rest of the family.
Tonight I caught them reviewing a few steps in the family room before going to bed and snuck a photo before they realized I was there.
My sister Amanda and I the night before her wedding — I grew this mustache especially for her big day because she loves them.
